Apple has officially begun rolling out iOS 27 today, marking a significant leap forward for the company’s ecosystem with the long awaited launch of Siri AI. This comprehensive intelligence overhaul arrives simultaneously across iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Vision Pro devices. While the advanced AI capabilities are currently limited to a beta version for English speaking users, Apple confirmed that support for Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese will follow in October.

Beyond the artificial intelligence upgrades, iOS 27 introduces several aesthetic and functional changes to the user experience. One of the most notable additions is the Liquid Glass opacity slider, which allows users to customize their interface between a crystal clear look and a frostier appearance. The update also brings refreshed icon designs for many built-in applications, larger widgets for home screens, and more granular control over volume settings for everything from alarms to system alerts.

The accompanying OS updates bring tailored improvements to other hardware as well. For those using an Apple Watch running watchOS 27, new Workout Buddy features and updated tap gestures take center stage alongside refined Smart Stack suggestions. Meanwhile, iPad users can expect faster file transfers to external drives and snappier web browsing performance. Those wearing the Vision Pro headset via visionOS 27 gain the ability to preview notifications simply by looking at them and can now transform their own panoramic photos into fully immersive environments.

Compatibility remains broad but specific across the lineup. iOS 27 supports iPhone 11 and second generation SE models and newer. On the wrist side, it requires an Apple Watch Series 9 or Ultra 2 at minimum, while iPadOS 27 targets various M-series chips across the Pro and Air lines along with recent base models. These coordinated releases signal Apple’s intent to weave generative AI deeply into every facet of its device portfolio starting this autumn.
